While its usually better to remove your paper before painting there are some cases where painting over wallpaper may actually be beneficial. They may find their walls are not in good enough shape and that removing the paper causes more problems than it prevents. You can definitely paint over wallpaper but I have mixed feelings about it.
A light or medium depth textured wallpaper can be painted over if you follow our instructions.
While it may not be ideal sometimes it just makes more sense to paint over wallpaper. It also requires a significant amount of prep work to achieve attractive results. However wallpaper with a strong adhesive can be hard to remove. Use TSP trisodium phosphate or a solution of vinegar and water to wash the walls.
